The The Donor Type Summary Viewport displays  viewport displays dollar and donor performance by Donor Type over a five year period. All metrics are within the context of the selected school/unit giving designations, primary relationship types, measurement and time periods. The Unit Change column displays the increase or decrease in dollars or donors from the previous fiscal year to the selected fiscal year. The % Change column displays the percent increase or decrease from the previous fiscal year to the selected fiscal year.

Key Definitions:

• Acquired: Donors  Donors who were credited (i.e. soft credit and hard credit) with their first cash donation first donation of the selected measurement (Cash, Commitment, or Pledge) to the selected school/unit giving designations in the given time period.
• Retained: Donors  Donors who were credited (i.e. soft credit and hard credit) with a cash donation to a donation  of the selected measurement (Cash, Commitment, or Pledge)  to one of the selected school/unit giving designations in the given time period and in the entire preceding year period (in the case of fiscal year to date, the number of entities credited in the given period to date, and the entire preceding year period). An entity must have given to one of the selected school/unit giving designations in both years to be considered retained.
• Renewed: Donors  Donors who were credited (i.e. soft credit and hard credit) with a cash donation to a donation of the selected measurement (Cash, Commitment, or Pledge) to one of the selected school/unit giving designations in the given time period, and some prior year but not in the preceding year period. An entity must have given to one of the selected school/unit giving designations in both years to be considered renewed.
• Donor Performance: The  The number of entities of that were credited (i.e. soft credit and hard credit) with a cash donation of each donor type in the a donation of the selected measurement (Cash, Commitment, or Pledge) in the given time period. This includes only transactions designated to one of the selected school/unit giving designations, and from entities with one of the Primary Relationship Types selected.
• Dollar Performance: Sum  Sum of the legal cash giving from each donor type in the legal giving of the selected measurement (Cash, Commitment, or Pledge) in the given time period. This includes only transactions designated to one of the selected school/unit giving designations, and from entities with one of the Primary Relationship Types selected.
